National Grammar Day

(The following is a rough transcription of the below video)

All righty. Then how are you doing? This is Simon Scholes here, founder and creative director of perception studios at the award-winning visual marketing agency based in the UK. That’s my email going off. Uh, we, our brands and businesses create content that really helps them stand out on their social media via video, animation, aerial work, sometimes photography, all that kind of stuff. However, as always, I want you to be able to do stuff yourself free and on today of all days. It’s well worth chatting about this one. It’s national grandma day. Oh, it’s national grammar day. So as you know, I’m not a big fan of creating perfect content. However, grammar is quite an important one and now I am not some sort of grammar doctor goes out and picks up on everybody’s grammar on their content when they put it out. However, grammar is important. It’s fine and dandy to write your content as if the way you speak. In fact, it’s exactly how I do it. I write my content, how I speak. However, my grammar can’t be wrong.

[inaudible]

because your grandma’s copyright. There’s too many people out there who read things as they should be read. So for example, there is the main, I’m sure you’ve all seen at some point or another. Okay. And your grandma rye is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing your shit, so

yeah, exactly. You don’t want to get it wrong because if somebody reads it in a particular way they can read it and go, wow, this person has not got a clue. So I’m going to tell you now down something like grammatically, it’s a great app, it’s free and you can pay for, if you want to put it will just pick you up on those little bits and pieces where you potentially getting something wrong in your grammar or potentially even in spelling as well. Although spelling isn’t such so much of an issue, it’s more the grammar side of things. That is a bit of an issue for most people and a, yeah, it’s well worth getting it right and for the fact that you can download a free app, a free app that can help you get it right. Why wouldn’t you? Exactly. Now, this is a really short video and a really short piece of content, but

I’m sure there’s some value there for you. There’s no, there’s nothing else to say other than get it right and we don’t always all get it right. It’s not the end of the world if you don’t get it right. If somebody picks you up on a grammatical error, change it. Don’t delete the post, just edit it. Just make it right. And then go back to the comment and just say, thanks ever so much. I missed that one. I’ve changed it. So it’s right now. People will forgive mistakes, but don’t put them in there just because you’re lazy and can’t be bothered to download an app that will probably pick you up on it anyway. Exactly. Great stuff. Right until tomorrow. Have a good, enjoying national grammar day, and I’m about to go and bring my grandma and uh, yeah, explain what I was talking about. Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow. Bye.

National Dog Biscuit Day

(The following is a rough transcript of the below video)

Now then, how the devil are you? Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. Welcome to this Sunday video. Thank you for consuming this. And so if you didn’t already know, today is national dog biscuit. Why is there a day for national thought biscuits? I’ve no idea. But obviously it is a day to spend time with friends, family, whether your friends and family are human or are fairly little friends and you’re gonna give them loads of dog biscuits as treats today because it isn’t national dog biscuit day. Uh, but that said, even though you’re going to be spending time with friends, family, fairy friends, all that kind of stuff, just don’t forget the audience behind the lens as well. Verse people who consume your content on a daily basis and those who can’t consume your content on a daily basis. Because let’s remember, social media doesn’t work a five day week it is on seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, a platform, and if you’re not using it on all of those days as a chance, you’re potentially missing out and talking to a new customer because especially on a weekend, not everybody can use social media on a week date. Sometimes the bosses won’t let them do it. That’s why we suggest that people actually when they create video content, have subtitles so that when the boss is in the office and you still want to watch the video content, you can, you don’t have to listen to it. You can actually watch it with subtitles and read what the person says exactly. So don’t forget on a weekend there is a potential of new people consuming content because everybody can be online during the week. So those new people are going to pop onto social media and consume content in this area of expertise that you’re in because are looking for that help and your competitors are putting stuff out on a Saturday and Sunday and you’re not.

So what’s going to happen? You competitors are going to get them as raving fans and as potential new customers and you’re not. However, that’s easily remedied. Start posting on a weekend. I’m not saying you have to create loads and loads of content for a weekend by I am saying you need to spend a little bit of time to saying hello, having a chat with them. Maybe even just make weekends about having fun and not necessarily consuming loads and loads of value-driven content and those statistics, but you could make it about taking part of the poll or maybe having a quiz about the content you’ve been posting for the week and see if people can answer the questions on it. It gives them a chance as well to go back and consume that content and maybe get the questions right. All that kind of stuff. Anyway, hopefully, you’ve got some value from this. The value is that, don’t forget there was a brand new audience on a weekend consuming content, so make sure you’re making content for them to consume. In the meantime, go off, have some fun with your fairy friends and give them a biscuit from me on national bumpy skin day and until tomorrow, have a good un’ bye.

Cook A Sweet Potato

(The following is a rough transcript from the below video)

The devil. I you. Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. It is national cooker sweet potato day as if there’s a day for cooking a sweet potato. I know they’ll make anything where they, anyway, so yesterday is national cookers, sweet potato day. Everybody cooks sweet potatoes these days because they want to be a little bit healthier than want something a bit nicer in their diet with less carbs. Um, and to try and tie this into social media, it got me thinking about how healthy is your content and your social media for your audience. Uh, because so many people just throw content out at different times of the day to potentially different audiences without really thinking seriously about their content and what they’re actually doing with that. So it begs the question, do you understand who your avatar is? If you don’t know what an avatar is, basically an avatar is the ideal customer for you, your niche customer.

Sticky Bun Day

(The following is a rough transcript of the below video)

Now then how the devil are you? Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. Thank you very much for joining me on national sticky bond day. Who would not want to celebrate that day. Yeah, exactly. And an as always, I want to try and tie this back into your content, your brand, your business, use social media. And uh, I thought I would tie this one into LinkedIn because something I’ve been getting a lot of lately is people sending me requests to connect and either in their request, they’re sending to me, or the minute that I press accept on the request to connect, they’re sending me a sales message on the DMS. What are you thinking?

Tug Of War Day

(The following is a transcript of the below video)

Now. Then how the devil are you? Excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. I’m Simon Scholes, founder and creative director of perception studios, the award winning visual marketing agency and as always on a daily basis and wanted to talk to you about some of the stuff that you can do yourselves for free or potentially with a small cost attached, which is what today is all about because I’m going to tat to you about the fact that it is national tug of war day and on a day like today where it’s raining and horrible outside, the last thing you want to be doing is playing a tug of war, but on a daily basis, especially if you work in marketing in your brand or in your business right now, and you have this tug of war between whether you should spend money on social media or not really bother.

Random Acts Of Kindness

(The following is a transcript of the below video)

Now. Then how the devil I you. Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. Welcome to another national day. Today if you didn’t already know is national kindness day, do a random act of kindness for a stranger and a yay, you’re helping them out. So lots of people doing lots of different things. In fact today I’ve been to Starbucks and paid for the next person, Starbucks without them knowing, so then they get a free coffee. That was my, or one of my random acts of kindness today. So I want to ask you a question on social media. What do you do as a random act of kindness every single day? I try to give them value for free and this is something that kind of you should be looking to do as well, no matter what business is you are in. I spoke about this the other day as well as so many people get caught up in social media and needing a return on investment, but they forget about the fact that social media is about being social and about giving something back to the community that is out there or potentially even the community that you’ve already built.

Single Person Awareness Day

(The following is a transcript from the video below)

Now. Then how the devil are you? Excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. I’m in the car with the loved one in the background, so excuse any, abrupt noises all of a sudden from background. Uh, so today, if you didn’t already know yesterday was Valentine’s day to day is single person awareness day, which means if he’s single you can go home and love yourself and that sounds very wrong.

But you can go home and make yourself a meal or you can not just watch a good film or you can get the popcorn out or have some chocolate or you can do all of the above and much, much more if you really want to. But the moment, most important thing is, is that you’re loving the fact that your team is single, single person awareness day. And that kind of got me thinking about all the solo printers that are out there right now as well.

Valentines Day Value

(The following is a transcript from the below video)

Now then, welcome to the social media podcast. How the devil are you? Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. I’m Sam skulls. They found out and creative director of perception studios, the award-winning visual marketing agency and today is Valentine’s day. So let’s talk about spreading the love, the social media podcast with Simon Scholes, tips, hints, and great content ideas. So on a daylight today, obviously we’re going to talk about love is Valentine’s day after all, and I want to ask you the question, how are you spreading the love to your audience? I want to ask you how you do this. Do you do it by selling to them? Do you do it by sending to them with special offers to do, by selling to them with free gifts? Because even if you’re giving something for free, you were effectively selling or do you do what we do?

World Radio Day

(The following is a transcript taken from a video about the subject, see below)

Now. Then how the devil are you. Well, excellent. Me too. Thank you very much for asking. Welcome to another video. Today is world radio day. Now obviously I have a very fond affinity with radio. It’s where I started my career. I was working in radio stations as a producer, as a tack up, ended up being a presenter that were running radio stations and all sorts of stuff. So I have a big affinity towards radio and audio in particular and which is why I want to talk to you about what I want to talk to you about today, which is the power of audio for your brand and your business. So if you’re not already doing this, I think this is probably one of the most powerful tools for Brandon business at the moment because it’s the one that has the least friction. All of the forms of content take time and energy to actually consume them.

Safer Internet Day

(The following is a transcript from the below video)

Now then, how the devil are you?

Well, excellent, me too thank you very much for asking. Welcome to another video.

Today’s video all about what today’s national day is, which is a safer internet day. There’s a lot of stuff today in the news about off com in the UK. Hopefully gonna regulate or try to regulate things like the internet, make it safer for people to use, uh, go head-on with people who are like trolling, bullying causing harassment, racial prejudice, all that kind of stuff. Hey, something, I’m completely for 100% making the internet safer place for kids to use is like tantamount really for everybody because obviously what kind of world are they going to grow up and they’re not going to grow up in a world where technology didn’t exist like it didn’t for us. They’re going to grow up in a world where things like what I’m filming on right now, my iPhone 11, I can not be obsolete and there’s going to be something so much more powerful, so much better available for them to use on the platforms they’ll be using on that piece of care.
